Brown Sauce - Rosie's special recipe!

Make this lovely sauce and breakfast will never be the same again

Ingredients

Apples, Cooking

Onions (medium) , Peeled and chopped
1lb
450 g
Dates , Chopped
2lb
1 kg
Malt Vinegar
600 oz
1pint
Sea Salt
1 tsp
Ginger, ground
1 tsp
Mustard , dry powder
1 tsp
Cayenne Pepper
1 half tsp
Muscavado Sugar
8 oz
225 g

Method

Cook onions in a little water until soft Add peeled and chopped apples, dates, spices and vinegar. Cook over a low heat until very soft Add sugar and a little more vinegar if needed, but the mixture needs to become quite thick Either process the sauce in a goblet liquidiser, or push through a sieve Return to the pan and reheat gently Bottle and seal while hot Donít eat breakfast without it!
